Healthcare Workforce Training

Promoting physical activity through the health and social care workforce

Around 1 in 3 men and 50% of women are not achieving recommended levels of activity for good health, with people with long term conditions twice as likely to be amongst the least active.

Physical Activity Clinical Champions (PACC) is an initiative that offers FREE clinician to clinician training to people working in healthcare, which supports them to improve patient care and outcomes.

PACC training was initially developed as part of the Moving Health Professionals Programme, run by Sport England and Public Health England (now OHID). In June 2023, a consortium consisting of The Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre, Sheffield, Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine UK and Intelligent Health began a transition phase to take over the support and running of the programme to enable a sustainable ongoing platform for the future.

Emma Tucker has recently been seconded from Oxford Health NHSFT as part of a national pilot project to embed training at place level. Her role will work to embed training and create stronger links between Health and the Active Partnerships to further embed physical activity awareness and signposting opportunities within Oxfordshire.

If you may be interested in attending a scheduled training session, then select a workshop below to register on to.

If you are keen to arrange training inhouse for you and your teams then please contact Emma directly – she is happy to deliver face to face or digitally to ensure it is truly accessible for all. Training can be individualised to your client population needs or more generalised. Just reach out as Emma is very happy to have a conversation to ensure the training meets your needs.
